ABC NEWS REBRAND 2017

ABC NEWS REBRAND

ABC Australia tasked us with developing a fresh, bold and adaptable design that enabled a consistent brand expression across all of their digital, social and television platforms. This new, simplified brand was to be united under a single name: ABC News.

OUR AIM

Our aim was to make every expression of the brand authentic and, like the news itself, absolutely current.

OUR SOLUTION

Our solution was to build every part of the brand from the news stories themselves: each title sequence, transitional element and, of course, the presentation itself, is assembled on the fly with images and information as it happens. With hero colours reduced to simple black and white, we used the new, bespoke ABC typeface as a signature element to convey information in a bold, direct and plain spoken way.

TYPEFACE AS SIGNATURE

With hero colours reduced to simple black and white, we used the new, bespoke ABC typeface as a signature element to convey information in a bold, direct and plain spoken way.

OUR TAKEOUT

This project was a pleasure to work on and the refreshed design stays true to the principles of an independent, high quality publicly funded news service: making it easier for audiences to find the news they want, anywhere they want it. ABC NEWS: know the story.
